The UEFA Champions League draw for the quarter-finals has thrown up some mouthwatering European match-ups with the high profile clashes expected to pit some of the world’s best footballers against each other.
The first quarter-final will see surprise English champions of last season Leicester City take on last year’s runners-up Atletico Madrid of Spain.
German side Borussia Dotmund, who beat Portugal’s Benfica 3-1 on aggregate in the round of 16, have been drawn against French side Monaco, who pulled off a thrilling second leg 3-1 win over Pep Guardiola’s Manchester City to gatecrash into the quarters on the away goal rule.
The third quarter-final will pit old rivals Bayern Munich against current holders Real Madrid. Both teams have played against each other on 10 occasions in the knock-out stages of the Champions League and it is even-steven between the two giants with both winning 5 times.
The fourth and final quarter-final will pit comeback kings FC Barcelona against Italian champions Juventus. The Spanish giants beat the Turin club in the final of the 2015-16 season to win the title and Gianluigi Buffon and his men will look to avenge that loss against Lionel Messi and company.
