Sri Lanka defeated Bangladesh by 1-0 in an International Friendly match played on Wednesday (30) at the Sheikh Kamal Stadium in Nilphamari, Bangladesh. Striker Mohamed Fazal scored the winning goal in 10th minute and it was a long kick from 40 metres as Sri Lanka went on to secure a win after a long lapse. Sri Lanka took a 1-0 lead in the first half and Bangladesh could not score through the entire game. Sri Lanka recorded this international victory after two years, their last win was against Nepal by 1-0 at the SAFF Championship held in India in 2015. Over 40000 spectators were present to witness the match where the home team supporters were left broken hearted.
